AI Governance Analyst
Location: Manchester, UK | Mandatory in-office presence 4 days per week
Contract - £250 p/d
Role Overview
We are seeking an energetic and analytically-minded Entry level AI Governance Analyst to support the definition, implementation, and operationalisation of governance and risk controls for responsible AI across enterprise programmes. This is an early-career role with direct exposure to cross-functional stakeholders and evolving regulatory frameworks.
You will work within a specialist team that ensures AI capabilities are deployed ethically, securely, and in compliance with internal standards and emerging external regulations such as the UK / EU AI Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development, documentation and maintenance of AI governance frameworks, standards, and policies.
- Assist in mapping AI use-cases to risk tiers and governance control requirements.
- Contribute to impact assessments, evidence capture, and compliance tracking across AI initiatives.
- Monitor emerging AI regulation, ethical guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with business, technical, risk and compliance teams to embed governance into delivery lifecycles.
- Prepare clear governance reports, dashboards and guidance for internal audiences.
- Track governance project roadmaps and support stakeholder engagement activities.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above preferred) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Law, Public Policy, Business, or related discipline.
- Demonstrable interest in AI ethics, governance, compliance or risk management.
- Strong analytical capability and problem-solving orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex issues simply.
- Ability to work collaboratively across business and technical teams.
- High attention to detail, organisation and documentation.
- Willingness to work in-office four days per week.
Desirable (but Not Essential) Experience
- Coursework or projects involving ethical AI, data governance, risk frameworks, or regulatory analysis.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts (bias, fairness, explainability, lifecycle risk).
- Exposure to GDPR, UK data protection principles or emerging AI governance standards.
- Experience with reporting, dashboards or compliance tooling.
