About The Opportunity
AmcoGiffen is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to support the delivery of a diverse and growing portfolio of electrical and mechanical engineering projects across the Environment Agency Framework in the Wessex Area. This includes EV charger installations, sluice gate refurbishment, flap valve installation and renewal, pump station refurbishment, power upgrades, and wider M&E/civils schemes that directly support environmental resilience and critical national infrastructure.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex engineering environments, enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams and is passionate about delivering high‑quality, safe and sustainable engineering solutions.

Role Overview
You will manage the full lifecycle of multiple M&E and EV charging projects—from early scoping and planning through to delivery, commissioning and handback. Working closely with design teams, clients, supply chain partners and statutory authorities, you will ensure seamless coordination and high‑quality delivery across all project phases.
You will be accountable for ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from pre‑qualification and tendering through to delivery, commissioning and handback.
- Uphold responsibilities under the company’s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and internal business management systems.
- Communicate project requirements clearly to site teams and ensure resources are in place.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain Construction Phase Plans, Work Package Plans and Task Briefs.
- Manage Contract Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans and handover documentation.
- Deliver site inductions and verify competencies of all personnel.
- Coordinate with client‑appointed contractors and statutory authorities.
- Manage subcontractor performance, safety and efficiency.
- Promote continuous improvement and best practice across all project phases.
- Conduct regular site inspections and engagement sessions.
- Communicate and implement company initiatives and directives.
- Monitor project progress, variations and cost plans in collaboration with commercial teams.
- Identify and manage contract changes effectively.
- Provide formal progress reports to senior leadership.
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior management as appropriate.
- Represent and promote the company to clients and identify business development opportunities.
Skills Required
- Engineering, management and multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and civil engineering environments.
- Ability to lead teams, coordinate complex interfaces and manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving capability.
Qualifications Required
- HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering
- Management / Project Management qualifications.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS (Professionally Qualified Person or equivalent).
