The energy team works on global coverage across all products (Private Capital, ECM, M&A, Project Finance, Debt and Strategic Advisory). The energy team also has broad based sub-sector coverage across up-to-downstream Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy Production (Wind, Solar, Geothermal), Alternative Fuels (Biogas, SAF, Hydrogen), Energy Storage (FTM/BTM BESS, LDES) as well as various Clean Tech and Carbon verticals.
Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced analyst to join our Energy team with key responsibilities outlined below:
- Build complex operational and financial valuation models
- Conduct company and industry research to monitor and analyze financial information (economic, industrial, and corporate developments) to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in advising clients on transactions
- Organise and prepare client presentations which assess clients situations to provide the necessary financial advice and recommended strategies to meet client goals
- Assist in managing and executing transaction process workstreams
- Co-ordinate teams of other external advisors (tax, legal, accounting, PR)
- Engage in due diligence processes and actively participate in negotiations of legal documentation
- Assist in structuring transactions
- Develop and strengthen our client relationships
Deal teams at H&P are lean, enabling analysts to have a meaningful role in their projects and gain direct exposure to clients and senior bankers across the firm. Analysts are expected to take on an outsized level of responsibility and can expect early and high level interaction with clients and their senior management teams.
Person specification
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:1 equivalent)
- A minimum of 12 months of prior full-time investment banking analyst experience with demonstrable energy and/or infrastructure focused M&A and/or capital markets transactional deal experience
- We will also consider candidates who have a more extensive prior energy and/or infrastructure sector focused experience gained in project finance/corporate banking, big four lead advisory teams, buy-side investment teams
- Proven quantitative and technical skills with strong financial modeling, finance, and accounting skills
- Relationship management skills, able to interact with all levels within an organization with strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups and regions
- Demonstrated capability to lead and manage projects with excellent organizational, execution and time management skills; attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and drive with a high degree of self-discipline and motivation
- An entrepreneurial spirit, ready to roll up your sleeves and dig into the complexities of any task or challenge
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, other languages a plus
- Superior attention to detail
