We’re proud to be working with a world-leading industrial gases and engineering company to recruit a Plant Shift Manager for their top-tier COMAH site near Port Talbot. This is a vital leadership role within a dynamic and supportive team, where your contribution will directly impact safe and efficient plant operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a people-oriented leader who wants to make a meaningful difference on site while continuing to grow professionally.
What you’ll be doing:
- Overseeing day-to-day plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output
- Taking responsibility as the Senior Person on Site during any emergency, with full support from the team
- Leading and coaching a skilled shift team, promoting a strong safety culture and positive working environment
- Coordinating with on-site contractors, ensuring safe working practices and permit-to-work compliance
- Working closely with the Remote Operating Centre (ROC) to optimise plant performance and efficiency
- Providing support to satellite sites as needed during coverage weeks
- Keeping accurate management records and contributing to cross-functional problem-solving and improvement efforts
What we’re looking for:
- ONC or HNC in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proven ability to lead or supervise a shift team in a process plant or similar environment
- Sound knowledge of safety systems, COMAH standards, and emergency response procedures
- Experience with air separation units (ASUs), hydrogen reformers or carbon monoxide installations is a strong plus
- A proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental responsibility
- A calm, inclusive, and reliable leader who builds trust and supports others under pressure
- Clear understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.
- A high level of personal integrity and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
