Transmission Cable Project Engineer (Up to 400kV)
The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Transmission Cable Engineer to join our team. This role involves working on high-voltage cable projects up to 400kV, including both subsea and land-based installations. You will play a key role in ensuring the technical integrity and compliance of our transmission infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support transmission-level cable projects, including document review, factory acceptance testing, installation, and commissioning.
- Provide technical assessments and critical evaluations of engineering solutions, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including Construction Design Management (CDM) and Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations (ESQCR).
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve critical technical issues.
- Communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating diligence and the ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
About You
- Proven experience in high-voltage cable projects (ideally up to 400kV), including subsea and land cable systems.
- Strong understanding of transmission network management and associated regulatory frameworks.
- Problem-solving mindset with the confidence to challenge and drive resolution of technical matters.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards professional accreditation with a relevant institution is highly desirable.
